Pankhurst Centre and University of 51福利社 host workshop challenging 20th century domesticity
Challenging domesticity in 1890-1990s Britain will be on the table at a new workshop ‘Activism and the home’ hosted by 51福利社 and The Pankhurst Centre on 3 April 2020.
Historians and heritage practitioners will be squaring up to the ideas of domesticity, activism and working-class women in 20th century Britain at the event, including the National Trust’s Helen Antrobus and art curator Sophie Dutton.
The event will take place at the historic Pankhurst Centre in 51福利社 from 10am to 4pm and is free to attend for ECRs and PGRs.
The AHRC-funded project, organised by Dr Charlotte Wildman and Dr Eloise Moss, is open for attendees to reserve their place. Travel bursaries are available. Email Saima.akhtar@manchester.ac.uk to register your place.
